Mike Prager

Technical Director

Mike has been involved in Information Technology solutions for more than 15 years specializing in Enterprise Business Solutions built on the Microsoft Server Platform.

Mike spent the first half of his career in Infrastructure Design, designing and implementing Networks for Merchant Banks including NatWest Markets and Samuel Montague. He then moved out to San Francisco spending 3 years working at Charles Schwab (largest US discount brokerage) where he worked on many Windows NT Infrastructure projects including the roll out of Windows NT 4 to 800 servers and 10,000 workstations and a "Fax from the Desktop" implementation.

After returning to the UK, Mike worked for Whittman-Hart, a leading IT consultancy where he headed up an e-Commerce group providing B2C and B2B commerce solutions. The group thrived during the Dot Com era and delivered many cost effective solutions for clients including Dudley Stationery, Scottish & Southern Energy (The original implementation was still live up till 2008) and Vertacross (A subsidiary of Siemens). In 2000, Whittman-Hart merged with USWeb/CKS to form marchFIRST, one of the largest global systems integrators and internet consulting companies in the world where Mike headed up a team of 30 developers providing Microsoft based business consulting and development services.

In 2001, Mike joined Unilog, where he headed up a team specialising in Enterprise Integration and successfully implemented some major projects utilizing Microsoft BizTalk Server to connect disparate internal and external systems including projects for Inchcape Fleet Management and Jersey Post (who were one of the first customers in Europe to go live on Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004).

In 2006, Mike formed an IT Consulting company, Pertexo, which specialises in crafting business solutions for customers using Microsoft technologies. Projects are carried out using an Agile methodology which focuses on iterative delivery cycles and a collaborative working ethic that maximizes ROI for a customer and severely reduces risk, ambiguity and defects in the final product. Recently, Mike completed a project for Tesco to deliver part of their Ranging System which allowed Merchandisers and Buyers to place products in Tesco’s Stores based on previous sales history and store attributes.

Pertexo also produces a high volume, flexible, document content management software system (IDPS) that can turn raw data into volume-printer ready and electronic files with targeted messaging, layout and content based on prescribed business rules.
